2004-02-08 | AWARD TOUR

This is my Grammy roundup entry. Well, it's only less than half over now, so I may have more later, but anyway, I had chills going up my spine during the White Stripes performance.

Everytime I see them perform live it reminds me I not only want to be in a band, but must be someday soon. And I will collaborate with you someday, Mr. White. I'll keep asking until you say yes, or until I die. Whichever comes first.

I've only seen the White Stripes perform live on television. I can't even imagine what an experience it would be to see them perform in person.

What's with all these r&b biootches getting all impressed with themselves during their songs? They'll be doing that annoying end of the song thing where they slur words through their singing until they're out of breath, and then they'll stop and laugh arrogantly, as if to say "damn I'm good". Which they're not. Alicia Keys sure is boring. And overrated. Don't even get me started on Gaguilera. Sure she can sing, but who cares? Where's the artistic integrity? Where's the all around talent? Where's the humbleness?

Ha ha ha. Celine Dion just had a microphone malfunction. Can you think of anybody else you'd want to have a microphone malfunction more than Celine Dion? Sacre bleu.

I can't lie, though. I almost shed a tear when Luther Vandross was speaking. Get well soon, Loofa.

God I'm getting tired of hearing about this fucking Janet Jackson bullshit, but I have to say something about it.

I don't know what it is about him, but I believe Justin when he says that the whole "incident" was unintentional. He has no reason to lie. He's untouchable. He's like the godfather or something. He's like the godson. He's made like Alice. I think Janet may have set him up. It was a booby trap! I thank you. Sorry, I had to do it.

The Sting/Sean John performance was very sloppy and unremarkable. Please put us out of our misery and get the band back together, mate.

I thought that the Sting/Dave Matthews/Vince Gill/Pharell Williams Beatles tribute was very good however. I was pleasantly surprised.

And as far as Prince goes, it was nice to see him, but I would've much rather watched him do his thing alone than have Beyonce come on, and have some full on orchestra playing his hits along with him. He's enough of a superstar to handle anything on his own. Is he ever going to put out that guitar heavy album that I've always dreamed he would make? Name another pop star who can shred like that. Shit, you'd be hardpressed to find another pop star who can even play an instrument or, god forbid, write their own songs.
