Everybody is supposedly over Wu-Tang now. I stuck with them over the years. Their solo projects have still been enjoyable for the most part, in my opinion, except for a few flops here and there. But it's funny how everybody in hip-hop doesn't mention them anymore, but suddenly all these beats coming out are ripping off the old RZA beats from the first WU album, etc. You know the ones. The ones that take samples from old female soul singers, then change the rpms on the record player so her voice gets all squeaky. These people stole the beat making idea, and are now using them for lyricists with basic flows, and minimal originality. The most popular two songs I've heard that "jack" RZA for his beat ideas are that song "Good Times" by Styles, and the new J. Lo song with L.L. Cool J. The Styles song is the one that says "Everyday I get high...." That thing you hear with the high female vocalist looping repeatedly... you know that thing? That's a cheap rip-off of old school WU. I thought you knew. And what's the deal with J. Lo? Does she think that having videos with all these rappers is going to give her any cool cred? Most aren't even good rappers. And why do you need cred? You're marrying Affleck. Ben probably thinks he's down, too. Wouldn't you want to seperate yourself from rappers after the whole drama with Puffy and the gun at the night club? And it's kind of insulting and stupid to have a music video where her and L.L. are supposedly dating, just having a video with her real life love, Mr. Affleck. Why does this stuff only bother me? Does anybody else see what I'm talking about? "Rap" to me about it.....
