2005-01-06 | NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

I could never be a stalker. I'm too lazy.

All that standing around, and squatting. I'd miss all my favorite tv shows. Unless the person I was stalking had the same taste as me. Wouldn't that be ironic? You decide to stalk someone, then you find out you have all this stuff in common. It would be kind of weird maybe, too. You'd be kind of creeped out like, "this person has too much in common with me....that's scary...I don't know if I'm ready to stalk you right now."

I just had an interesting thought... I wonder if anyone has ever stalked someone for comfort and/or convenience. Like if you didn't have cable, and you walked by someones house one night and they were watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, and there just so happened to be a lawn chair sitting next to the flower garden... So you say to yourself "I'll watch just this one show and then I'll be on my way." Then they keep watching great television. And before you know it you've been there for two months, and one day you realize, "oh shit....I'm a stalker...and I don't feel so bad about it." I guess if you're stalking someones television you're not technically a stalker. You're more of a peeping tom.

Or if you were an insomniac, and you went to someones yard one night to watch their tv, or listen to your music, and the way the person carried themselves put you at ease, and you fell asleep and woke up 14 hours later. The only thing that helps you sleep is being in this persons yard "hanging out" with "them".

What if you were stalking a person of the same sex just because they entertained you? That wouldn't necessarily make you gay would it? I mean we've all seen people while we're at the mall that we could watch for hours, just because of some weird quirk they have, or the way they walk, or the way they smile, or their hairdos. You can watch whoever you want at the mall, but once you're in someones yard you're some sort of freak.

Of course I would never personally do any of these things, but it's just interesting to think about and talk about.

Actually one time I did something similar to a thing I've mentioned here. A neighbor had ordered one of the WWF Pay Per View Events, and I sat outside their window and watched a few minutes of it. I didn't feel that weird about it. I think more people would make fun of me for actually liking wrestling.
But anyway, stalkings not for me, and I'll try not to judge all you stalkers out there before I know all the facts. I don't have time for stalking. I'm too busy sleeping and stuff.
