2003-01-29 | I'M FEELING LUCKY/PUNK

Wow! I got an e-mail from Bill Swan of BEULAH today, and I was blown away.

(that's him on the far left along with Miles of Beulah and the smoochy Jeff Tweedy of Wilco)

See, I asked him to contribute a list of his favorite things for my upcoming book, and he said he wasn't really a "list person"...so he proceeded to send me a huge, 7 paragraph essay on how he first got into music, and how he's continued to grow musically, etc.

It's incredible.

I wish every person I asked for submissions would send me something like that back.

I'm not really a list person either. Sometimes they can be annoying. I'd rather them just talk about the things that influence them and who got them into the music that shaped them as musicians. Stuff like that.

So thank you to Mr. Swan for opening my eyes to even more possibilities leading to the completion of my project.

I will now be mentioning what he has done to other prospective contributors, and hopefully it will be contagious, and he will inspire a tidal wave of creative combustion thus far unseen.

Everything's going so well right now.

All I need is a regular job for now, so I can concentrate on getting the book done and not worry about my financial situation at the same time.

I'm so close to being perfect.

I've got a girl...I've got a future...I just need a regular job. Nothing flashy. Just something to pay the bills while I'm waiting for the cement to dry on what will someday soon be the path to my goals.

Once the pavement is dry I can begin the transition from slanted to enchanted.

I'm tired of walking on what seems to be a never ending spiral stair case.

The pictures of my future are starting to develop, but I just need to gradually brighten the corners.

Okay....that's enough Pavement puns for now.

That reminds me...I need to ask some of the ex-members to contribute.

Going back to Gary "Plant Man" Moore.

And Geddy fucking Lee for that matter.

Peace out.
