2003-01-11 | FORECLOSURE OF A DREAM

It came to me in a dream.

Fourteen disciples full of sugarless veins knocked on my door, demanding all my leftover travelers checks.

Mom told me to cash them as soon as I got to Puerto Rico.

I should've listened.

Lucky (the leprechaun) was there. (again)

A drunken night on the town had turned into a week of unconsciousness.

He woke up on a Sunday.

He had a nervous breakdown while trying to do the New York Times crossword.

He was convinced that Will Shortz was trying to kill him by making his brain spontaneously combust with one of those vague clues that they give every 4 lines.

So as I woke up, I was still trying to cope with the fact that he was no longer the same person I grew up with.

Then I was abruptly awakened by the dozen plus mad men.

A quiet morning playing video games and eating omelettes turned into an interrogation from hell.

Literally.
