2002-11-18 | NICE GUY FIDELITY
new cool actor alert: ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Peter Sarsgaard. (there was supposed to be a picture here, but i couldn't find one.) At first I thought he was even cooler, because I mistook him for Mr. Todd Luiso, the beloved sensitive record store employee (the bald guy) from High Fidelity. I also liked him in Jerry Maguire and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag. I was watching Salton Sea the other night, and when I saw Peter Sarsgaard on the screen, I thought he was Luiso with a wig on, because Todd is always bald in movies, so I assume he's bald in real life. Their faces look so similar, plus the character in Salton Sea had some of the same characteristics, and was really soft spoken. Their voices are really similar, as well. Then last night, I saw Sarsgaard again, and thought it was Luiso again, until I did some research. I saw Sarsgaards face and it drew me to the end of this movie, and I really liked the movie, even though it was really raunchy. The name of the movie is Center of the World. I just love his soft spoken nature. The same reason I love Todd Luiso. Then I remembered that Dave said that his girlfriend told him that "the guy in Salton Sea was also in Boys Don't Cry", and I didn't remember seeing Todd Luiso in that movie, so I was skeptical. I was right, because the guy in Salton Sea (and Boys Don't Cry) was Sarsgaard. I know I'm making it sound complicated, but it's really not. His character in Boys Don't Cry was a dick, though, if I remember correctly, so he loses some points for that, but I love his newer work. I guess he was in that horrible K-19: Widowmaker movie, too, and the Man in the Iron Mask, and a couple other ones... but I look forward to seeing him in the future. I think Luiso needs to be in more things, too, but I guess there's not enough room for nice guys in Hollywood. Anyway, in a future movie, these guys have got to play brothers. Their faces are almost identical, and their voices are, too. Heads up, directors.
