2002-03-21 | HE'S GONE RICHTER
ANDY RICHTER CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE was hilarious. I really liked it. I hope it lasts. I'm worried about the state of UNDECLARED though. This week, they just decided not to show it. Hopefully it's just a one week thing. I haven't heard anything one way or the other. It's just scary after what happened to the beloved FREAKS AND GEEKS. I like that part in FERRIS BUELLERS DAY OFF, when he's in his bed, like at the end of the movie, and his parents are checking on him. I forget what he says, but something to the effect of her asking if he feels better, and him saying "150 percent better" or something like that. And then he does the cute little fake cough thing, and they tell him to take it easy, and encourage him to maybe take another day off. I'm not describing it very well. Also-another interesting sidebar. That part at the end when he's talking about life being too short, and what happens if you don't appreciate it, or whatever. I forget the quote. But there's this rap group called the GRAVEDIGGAZ...Well, they're not really going anymore. RZA didn't do the last album with them, and TOO POETIC finally succumbed to cancer, or whatever it was he had. I'm pretty sure it was cancer. But they were one of my favorites. I think 6 FEET DEEP is vastly underrated, and in my mind is a hip-hop classic. They rapped about death alot, and deep issues relating to death. On this one song from the first album named "1-800-SUICIDE" which was also featured on a movie soundtrack (possibly tales from the crypt?), had an unusual sample during it. It's this really dark song, and in the middle of it they play that quote from FERRIS BUELLERS. It's like "If you don't sit back and enjoy it, you might miss it" or something. But it's really cool. I love that song, and I love that quote. Peace out, my invisible sea monkeys
