2002-02-06 | THE DIARY YOU HAVE COME TO READ THE LEAST
some albums I purchased on monday. and comments about the cd's, and/or to the people who will laugh at what I bought. dashboard confessional-"the places you have come to fear the most"/ Haven't listened to it yet. I just heard to much about this for too long, so I decided to buy it for myself, so I can be the judge. chemical brothers-"come with us"/ Ha ha ha. Laugh while you can monkey boy. rocket from the crypt-"group sounds" I got halfway through this today. It's really good. Really energetic. Better then their last couple albums. They're returning to their form as one of the most explosive bands around. Still one of the best and loudest concerts i've ever been to. The Shins-"Inverted World"/ Easy to listen to. I enjoyed it. I'm sure it will grow on me. Kind of short. Maybe good. Might've been to soothing if it went on longer. I was driving. This music doesn't mix with drivin' all the time. Langley Schools Music Project- another one I heard too much about to ignore. A bunch of kids with ultra-happy, or oddly melancholy versions of 60's and 70's hits. the version of "the long and winding road" is amazing. Just a little girl and a piano. pretty cool. Jack Johnson-"brushfire fairytales"/ Pretty run of the mill G. Love/ Ben Harper type pop. He's from Hawaii, so I had to check it out. He used to be a pro surfer. He looks real purty-like on the album cover. It was enjoyable. Easy listening. Ben Harper kicking in with the blues at the end of "flake" is a real plus. Oh, by the way, totally unrelated, "Kazaam" is the funniest fucking movie of all time (category: unintentionally) starring Shaquille O'Neal
