2001-07-02 | *ELEVATOR TO HELL*

LIKE alot of my songs this one starts off not making much sense except maybe somewhat to me, but at the end it totally makes sense. usually this happens when i try to be creative and actually write something down without thinking and then i get writers block half way through and don't finish it. then i think of a great line the next week and say, "hey, i can finish that lousy tune from last week, mick". i have an imaginary guitar player named "mick" who plays all the music for my songs. he's from scotland and likes jai alai.

"GET OFF IT"

The elevators slow. It tells us where to go. You reach a certain flow. The buttons make you glow. With every floor you grow. The a.c. starts to blow. I guess you didn't know. Your expressions never showed. When you reach a certain floor. The world is on 'ignore'. you wish you couldn't stop. 'cause your world is such a bore. if you could stay in just one piece. in perfect silent peace. You wouldn't have to go back to that stupid place. Or show your face....ever again...don't show your face again... (change of tempo from mick the magical axe man{song gets happier})

The elevator's gaining speed. She gave me everything I need. The world will take heed. I'm happy, even when i bleed. I don't care how you look. Just how you look at me. Let's go out 'a mess'. Let's not go at all, stay here with me. I don't care how you look. Only how you feel. Take off that dress....and tell me how you love me. The elevator's stopped....we'd rather walk. It takes longer....we'd rather talk...then get stuck on this fast machine.
