It looks like the Cubs are destined to never win a championship ever again. First they lost to two of the worst teams in baseball (Reds and Mets) 5 out of 6 times, then they didn't rise to the occasion against the Braves, who had already clinched home field for the first round yesterday. They lost 6 games in a row when they needed a win the most and will not be going to the playoffs. Sad.

The Giants screwed the pooch today, ruining Brett Tomko's beautiful performance and giving up 4 runs in the 9th inning, as the Dodgers won the NL West. The Giants still have a chance at the wild card.
The A's lost to the Angels two games in a row, and will not be going to the playoffs either. Of all the teams in the playoffs, the Angels are the most recent World Series champions. Last years champs, the Marlins, did not make the playoffs this year. Surprisingly, the Devil Rays and Tigers are also absent from the postseason festivities. Truly surprising, is that another recent WS champ, the Arizona Diamondbacks, might actually be a worse team than Tampa Bay and Detroit.

For those of you who don't pay attention to sports religiously, but still have an interest in who is going to be in the playoffs, the East side hustlahz include New York, Boston, Anaheim and Minnesota. The West side gangstas are Atlanta, Los Angeles, St. Louis and either San Francisco or Houston. Houston is ahead in today's game, so if they win this game and win tomorrow, they will be the wild card team. I believe if they win one of those games, and S.F. wins tomorrow, they will have a playoff game. If S.F. wins tomorrow, and Houston loses both games, S.F. will be the wild card. Arizona only needs to win 44 games by tomorrow to be the wild card team.

I do not want the Yankees to win. I want Atlanta to win most of all, but I would settle for anybody but the Yankees. I kind of like the Yankees, but this year I just don't want them to win for some reason. I know most people say that, but that's because they claim to have some deep rooted hatred for the Yankees, like George Streinbrenner took a dump on their Chevy Nova or something. But I like the Yankees. I just don't feel like having them for champions this year.
I don't really want the Cardinals to win either. These things sometimes change during the playoffs. When you start watching a team day after day, sometimes you fall for them like that girl at work who you see everyday, and they do something cute at work all the time so you start following them home and hiding in their garbage can like Shaggy and Scooby hiding from a ghost. So I may want the Yankees or Cardinals to win in a couple weeks. Even more likely if the Braves are eliminated.

Oh by the way. Ichiro is the illest. His bobble head doll likeness is smiling at me right now.

I think I will order pizza tonight. Yes. I think I will.
