2003-09-09 | THE OLD MAN AND THE CHI

Whenever I work at 6 in the morning, I usually arrive at around the same time, and right before I enter the parking lot, there's an old man wearing a wife beater type shirt, but with sleeves, and light blue slacks, and he kind of resembles Mr. Miyagi, and he's always just walking down the road, with a semi-sour look on his face..

The other day though, I arrived about 20 minutes earlier than usual, and there he was, with the same uniform, and the same face, in the same spot, headed in the same direction.

I thought to myself "is he my guardian angel?" or "does he just walk up and down this spot here for a few hours every day?"

Then I thought about it later, and I thought that this guy must be thinking "Is this guy in the red car stalking me?" or "does he just drive around in circles all day?".

Then I ate some beef jerky, and I thought to myself, "at his age, this guy must be wishing he could eat beef jerky without his teeth coming out."

Or maybe he's just thinking about puppies.
