I just had the greatest dream, so of course I had to share it with you.

Every once in a while, a dream can actually relate to one of your "dreams" in life, if you know what I mean.

I was backstage at the Video Music Awards, or something comparable, and I was hanging out with Keith Richards, Rivers Cuomo, Krist Novoselic, Micky Dolenz, Dave Grohl and some other great musicians I can't remember. I'm not even a huge fan of Weezer or the Monkees, so I don't know why Dolenz and Cuomo were there. Not like I wouldn't want to jam with them anyway. I was honored by their presence.

Anyway, we were all just standing there talking about music and drinking beer and smoking cigarettes, when all of a sudden, it hits me! I've got to ask these guys for a jam session. So I say something like "You know what? We're all standing out here having a great time, but we could be on stage right now, doing something amazing. How about this:"

I point at Cuomo, "You on guitar," then at Richards, "you on guitar, me on vocals, because I don't know how to play shit yet.....but I'll learn! Believe me I will...." Then I point at Grohl and Novoselic...."you on bass and you on drums!"

Immediately after saying that, you could feel an incredible energy in the room. There was an unbelievable buzz starting to spread. All the band members looked excited. How refreshing.

I continued, "I know it sounds predictable, and a lot of lame people will be talking about this tomorrow, but the 5 of us right here......" (I have no idea why Dolenz wasn't involved anymore) "....we'll never forget this... We'll always have this moment.."

Almost before I could finish my sentence, the mighty Novoselic started to back me up... "Yeah, this could be an amazing experience...."

All the band members started huddling, but for some reason they were huddling in their own little groups.

Keith Richards was huddling with the rest of the Stones, Cuomo with Weezer and Grohl and Novoselic together.

They were all nodding their heads, and seemed like they were about ready to agree to it, as I was thinking about which song we would sing, then of course.....

I woke up.

Maybe it was supposed to end that way.

Maybe it was supposed to end in real life...somewhere in the future.

All the way in the year 2000.....

No, but seriously, stranger things have happened. Who's to say that one year I won't be on stage at the VMA's, and overnight transform the state of the industry from pop control, to the return of real music. Good music.

Maybe it won't happen like that, or with those people, but I could definitely see something like that happening in the future. I may have to do it by myself, but I'll do whatever it takes to save the world from crap.
