I think people lie about certain things, because it's a misconception that's been accepted over time. Like women having their periods, and the so-called PMS before their periods. My girlfriend has the same attitude pretty much every day of the year. She never complains about PMS, she never gets bitchy. Every 6 months she complains about cramping, but that's understandable. But she never acts like it's a big deal. She doesn't act like it's preventing her from doing anything, and she doesn't use it as a reason for changing her personality for a few days every month. It's just not an issue. So how many women are being dramatic about it, and not being honest with their friends, family, lovers and themselves? If I didn't know what women go through, and didn't sort of know her cycle, I wouldn't even know she had a period ever. For some women I've known, it's a bigger issue then anything else in their lives. Well, it probably isn't, but they make a lot out of it. I suspect some are honestly affected by it, and some are over-dramatizing. I hope I'm not alienating my female readers. I'm just curious. Why is it not that big of a deal for my girflriend, but it is for others? Just wondering.
