2002-09-01 | Wu Mountain

I just vaguely remembered a dream I had last night. At least I think it was last night.

I was at some party at a hotel, and for some reason Ghostface Killah was there, and I believe the RZA was there, also, and a bunch of other people I didn't recognize. I don't believe any other members of the Wu Tang Clan were there.

Anyways they were trying to make fun of me because they thought I was just some dorky white guy, so I told Tony Starks aka Ironman aka Ghostface Killah, that I was going to rap for him, and not only that but I was going to use one of his raps from one of my favorite albums of all time, Supreme Clientele.

For some reason I couldn't think of anything that I could rap steadily. Of course, if the music was there in the background, I could rap it word for word, but not just from memory.

So I remembered one of the raps from Supreme Clientele and I started rapping it. But halfway through I realized it was on that album, but that it was one of the parts that the RZA rapped on. I think the RZA was impressed, but Ghost was just shaking his head and smiling. I don't remember what happened after that. I think I woke up right after that. It was cool to have the Wu in my dream, though.

I can't wait for my Ol Dirty Bastard dream.

I saw the Wu Tang Clan live at this outdoor music festival one year, and it was awesome. Dirty came into the crowd and was hitting on some frightened teenager, and ended up persuading her somehow to come back stage.

RZA spoke sincerely for a few minutes about how beautiful the scenery was, and how we don't realize what beauty we have around us, and don't appreciate stuff, so he made everybody turn around and look at the mountain. He was like mesmerized. He said something like "Just look at that shit. That's fucking amazing. That's beautiful shit. You guys gotta appreciate what you got here. From now on, we gonna name that mountain 'Wu Mountain'. Whenever you guys drive by here, you tell somebody 'that's Wu Mountain' right there."

Also at the concert I shook Method Mans hand, and I felt like we had a moment, but that was great. Even if we didn't really have a moment, I will always remember it.
