2002-07-10 | JARED'S GREATEST HITS: "HE'S OFF THE DIET"
THE LAST TEN: (HOLD APPLAUSE 'TIL END OF LIST, PLEASE) 10. SAGE FRANCIS "PERSONAL JOURNALS" (anticon) 9. GRAND BUFFET "UNDERCOVER ANGELS (EP)" 8. ATMOSPHERE "GOD LOVES UGLY" (rhymesayers/ fat beats) 7. MARS VOLTA "TREMULANT (EP)" (gold standard laboratories) 6. ALIAS "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LOOKING GLASS" (anticon.) 5. SEBADOH "BAKESALE" (sub pop) 4. MR. LIF "EMERGENCY RATIONS (EP)" (definitive jux) 3. SMASHING PUMPKINS "SAIMESE DREAM" (virgin) 2. SUPERJOINT RITUAL "USE ONCE AND DESTROY" (sanctuary)-- (Surprisingly creative side project from Phillip Anselmo. Of course it's metal, but it didn't lose my interest. I thought it was very enjoyable throughout. Didn't sound repetitive. One of the guys from Down/Eye Hate God, Phillip, some other guy and HANK WILLIAMS III(!) on bass!. I've seen Hank credited as just a touring bassist, but i read an article that had him listed as just the bassist, and they have no other bassist listed in the liner notes, so i'm not sure if Hank plays on the album. It says "touring bassist" in the notes.) 1. OVERWHELMING COLORFAST "BENDER (PROMOTIONAL EP)" (relativity)-- (a pure sounding, talented, very overlooked band, that could've possibly been famous, if their cards were played right)
- premature ejaculation
