2002-01-22 | STRANGELINES

the other morning, i watched almost the entire "BIG BULLY" starring TOM ARNOLD and RICK MORANIS. i don't know why. i enjoyed it, though. i was entertained. it was early in the morning, and i wasn't doing anything better, so i don't feel so bad. It was worth it just to see 'BOOGER' of REVENGE OF THE NERDS fame. Any movie with him is a must see. He was good on MOONLIGHTING, and DREAM ON, as well. Rick Moranis was pretty good back in the day. He was funny on SCTV, and I saw an old SNL a while back, which he was very good on, as the guest host.

If you watch tv alot, and you're always complaining that there's nothing on tv, then maybe you should spend the extra 10-20 dollars a month and get digital cable, and in-turn get pretty much every channel known to mankind. If you're going to be watching tv anyway, it's a fine investment. Trust me. Look what's been on the last 2 nights. Most of these are actually from last night, and from only like a 5 hour interval:

Of course I didn't catch any of these in their entirety. I always think there's something on tv. I would've watched Basquiat all the way through, but I caught it in the middle, so i didn't want to really watch it. I love Gary Oldman. He's so fucking good sometimes. I would've watched Bringing out the Dead if it was on at a time that nothing else was on. I don't know what it is about that movie, but it's one of my favorites.

I bought some new cds:

shuggie otis: inspiration information

manic hispanic: recline of mexican civilization (they're an all-star punk band with all latino members. i didn't know this was a covers album when i got it. they change the songs to latino subject matters. it's pretty good)

Dillinger Escape Plan: "Calculating Infinity"- some people call this "emo-metal" or some crap. I don't know, it's just metal. I'm not crazy about labeling stuff. It just sounds like a hardcore album. They're a little bit more imaginative though. But when it comes down to it, he's just screaming over some guitars. It's okay, i like that. It's downright perfect for some situations.

Neu! -self titled debut. I'm not sure about this yet. I've only heard a couple songs so far. so far it sounds like run of the mill instrumental songs, like tortoise or something. it's pretty good. no major complaints so far. i just got tired of hearing people talk about it, so i thought i'd buy and judge for myself.

Saves the Day- I forget the title. I swore I wouldn't buy this when my friend played it for me a few months ago, but i saw a video for their song one day, and i really liked it. so i broke down and bought the album. I bought these albums at Tower Records. I don't shoppe their much anymore, because it's expensive, but i go every once in awhile, because their selections not half-bad, and they get stuff in faster then some of the small places. they didn't have boilermaker, which i want to find, because i hear so much about it.

"yea. this keith. it's the answering machine. i got some meat up in the closet. if you gonna thaw it out, i'm going to go over to Tower Records and get a pizza"--DR. DOOOM

it's okay, i don't get that qoute either. but it still makes me laugh. i just wonder if he gets his cds at dominos or pizza hut.
