These are some messages I've received in the middle of fortune cookies:

"Your principles mean more to you than any money or success." (not really. Money means just as much as my principles. IN other words: a lot.)

"One look is worth ten thousand words." (some looks are worth ten cents. others a million bucks. some $24.17. some looks are worth 486,000 yen. some looks make you want your money back.)

"The respect of influential people will soon be yours."

"Prosperity makes friends and adversity tries them."

"You are the guiding star of his existence." (if by HIS you mean William Shatner, then you are absolutely correct.)

"The near future holds a fine gift of contentment." (word)

"You never hesitate to tackle the most difficult problems." (actually I always hesitate. But I do them eventually. well, most of the time. And sometimes I don't tackle them. I just graze them, or kick them in the back of the neck.)

"You'll never know what you can do until you try." (when you try, you will also find lots of things that you CAN'T do more often than not.)

"YOUR LOVE OF MUSIC WILL BE AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR LIFE." (!!!! I can't even front on that one. It was written for me. Simply perfect.)

"There is a prospect of a thrilling time ahead for you." (I dream about it all the time.)

"Something special is coming your way." (heartburn is not special)

"A good home is happiness." (A paid for home is even better.)

"The project you have in mind will soon gain momentum." (How prophetic. Let's hope they're talking about my book.)

"Prejudice is the child of ignorance." (racist people are usually the children of ignorant rednecks, so I think I know what they're saying here.)

"Relax and enjoy yourself." (not a fortune so much, but more like a soothing recommendation.)

"A diversity of friends is a credit to your flexible nature." (what a great fortune. Not always true. I do know a lot of diverse people, but they turn out not to be friends a lot of the time. I do have a flexible nature, but it doesn't help me find genuine people any easier.)

"The star of riches is shining on you." (yeah, but it's taking forever to collide with me.)

"You are admired for your impeccable tastes." (sometimes. Other times people don't give a shit. Or they think you don't have good taste, because they assume they know everything about you, even though they know nothing.)

"The road to success is often a lonely one." (how depressing can a fortune get? Luckily mine will not be lonely. Thanks, love.)

"Ideas you believe to be absurd ultimately lead to success!" (I love the exclamation point at the end of this one. Makes me feel good. In my case I think that ideas that OTHER PEOPLE think are absurd will ultimately lead to my success.)

"Ask advice but use your own common sense." (I couldn't have said it better myself.)

"The star of riches is shining upon you." (I already got this one. But last time it said "on" instead of "upon". This could be good or bad. Maybe they're trying to drive the point home. Or maybe it's just coincidence. I don't give a fuck. I'm gonna make mad scrilla anyway, kid.)
